When I moved back to Shanghai, I forgot about Boston. It was selfish. I spent 4 years of my life in this beautiful city who has given so much to so many students migrating into the city every year. And not once has it ever asked for something back.

Now the city is asking for our help. It’s time to give back, to help out the wounded, to remember the victims, but most importantly, we can’t let this ruin tradition. Marathon Monday won’t stop and we won’t let it stop. We will run years after this with new meaning. We will run stronger than ever before because Boston is a resilient city.

Yesterday reminded me of how much I love Boston. I’ve lived in 5 cities so far. But I know Boston will never leave me. Because when you ask me where I’m from, I always find myself saying… “I’m from Boston.”
